Recognized with a Broadcast Designers Association (Promax|BDA) national award
NBC Entertainment, with one of the world’s most recognizable logos, consistently provides quality tv shows for children with its Saturday morning line-up. In NYC, spring and annual Upfronts are synonymous. At this time of the year marketers, advertisers, and media buyers preview fall season line-ups at high energy, celebrity-laden parties, kicking off Upfront Week – a time when broadcast and cable networks sell ad time on their upcoming show. ’Color Us Fun’ pulled out all the stops at the fabulous Art Deco Radio City Hall!
Being integrally involved on an Upfront is a rush; one needs to pro-activley anticipate eleventh hour line-up decisions. Full-color, one-sheet templates were designed and printed, awaiting a final black-plate run. Upfronts are an all-hands-on-deck team effort: from Exec VPs popping into designers’ offices, to the meticulously choreographed production rehearsal, to showtime. I loved it!
Our ’Color Us Fun’ campaign truly had fun with NBC’s logo:
Steff Geissbühler's (Chermayeff & Geismar) version of the peacock endures to this day. Here's a fun read, What You Can Learn from the Evolution of the NBC Logo.
